Chairman’s Letter

Dear Friends:

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, the Essex Chapter of the Order of the Friendly Sons of
the Shillelagh will hold its 55th Annual Dinner Dance at The Hanover Manor in East
Hanover, NJ from 6:00 to 11:00 PM. Our dance has become a warm tradition and
one of the top social events on the Irish-American calendar, and this year will be no
exception. The evening will include a 90-minute premium cocktail hour, a sit-down
dinner, a 5-hour open bar, and live entertainment provided by The Will O’Connor
Band and the Essex Shillelagh Pipes & Drums.

It is with much pride that we announce Edmond (Ed) Brady and Patrick O’Connor as
our 2025 distinguished honorees. Both are dedicated longtime loyal members who
have tirelessly served the Irish-American community at large. They are individuals
who represent the best of Irish and American values and are well deserved Shillelagh
Men of the Year.

Our 2025 Friends of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh are Larry and Tina Baggitt.
They are strong supporters of our Order and have been invaluable in providing
resources and support for the success of the many charitable events at the club. These
events are not only dedicated the to fostering Irish culture but serve to meet the
charitable needs of the greater area communities.

To help remember our Dinner Dance, we will publish a commemorative journal. To
place a message or advertisement in our Dinner Dance Journal, or to obtain tickets to
the dance please contact any member of the committee, order on-line via our website
at www.shillelaghclub.com/dance, or return the enclosed advertisement and ticket
request forms. Or you can simply scan the provided QR code and follow the
instructions. As a kind reminder, there will be limit to the number of tickets being sold,
so please act early!
